Review: Banksy Movie “Exit Through The Gift Shop” 2

So this weekend, we got to go and see the new Banksy movie “Exit Through the Gift Shop”.  I had some mixed feelings about the movie. One I was totally stoked at the fact that I got to see the Banksy’s studio in the UK.  Also it was great to see how some of my other favorite artists do their “thing”.  One thing I certainly didn’t like about the movie was Mr Brainwash.  I hadn’t really heard of him before the film, however the way the movie portrayed him felt like a total knock off.  I felt like he was just a total copier. I think the only semi-original thing he did was the first wheat paste he did of him with a camera.

Overall, I think the movie was great and I love how the it showed not just one specific street artist, but a whole bunch of different ones (Monsieur Andre, Buffmonster, Space Invader, and some others). If you can make it out to see the movie I totally suggest people going out and seeing it!

Another plus to seeing it in NYC, there were a bunch of Aakash Nihalani pieces in the theater.
