We had a sneaky suspicion it was going to happen and it has, Sony has officially announced that their award-winning game, The Last of Us Remastered is headed to the PlayStation 4 this summer! The game is already available for pre-order from brick and mortar retailers as well as online retailers (including the PSN Store). The game will run in full 1080p, possibly at 60fps (they mentioned in a reply that this is what they are targeting for) and will include all the current DLC released on the PS3 version:
- Left Behind single player expansion
- Abandoned Territories multiplayer map pack
- Reclaimed Territories pack – details will be coming soon on exactly what is included
There are also pre-order bonuses that include:
- 100 Supply Points (XP) for use in Factions mode
- Two special bonus skins for Joel and Ellie which will be unlocked after your complete the single player campaign
- Increased Crafting Speed for use in the Single Player Campaign
- Increased Healing Speed for use in the Single Player Campaign
- 9mm Reload Speed Increase Upgrade for use in the Single Player Campaign
- Rifle Clip Capacity Increase Upgrade for use in the Single Player Campaign
And if you order from the PSN Store you can get these bonuses in addition to the previous bonus content:
- Early Access to the Brawler Survival Skill in Factions Mode
- Early Access to additional Loadout Points for use in Factions mode
- Early Access to the Jeep Cap and Surgical Mask for use in Factions mode
Right now there is no new footage or images of the game running on the PS4 yet (just the cover art above) but they promise more info is forthcoming. This not the first double dip for the console and it will not be the last but I think this is a worthwhile duplicate purchase and a definite first purchase if you haven’t played the game already!
