Red Bull Challenge Mode is set to return to PAX West 2019 as an epic four-day gaming and music event filled with tournaments, high score competitions, speed runs and live musical performances. The event will be hosted at the ACT Theatre beginning Friday, August 31 and is free for all PAX West attendees. Attendees can play three featured games at the fan experience area from noon to 5 p.m. daily Friday through Monday and enjoy special musical performances Friday through Sunday from 6-8 p.m.
The event will feature indie titles Sayonara Wild Hearts by Simogo and Annapurna Interactive, Samurai Gunn 2 by Beau Blyth and Double Fine Productions, along with a special celebration commemorating the 35th anniversary of Tetris®️. The weekend’s evening performances will include guest appearances from the iconic game’s creator Alexey Pajitnov and special DJ sets by Daniel Olsen, Hydelic and DoseOne. Attendees can also win exclusive prizes through giveaways, including a Sayonara Wild Hearts 7” vinyl sampler featuring two tracks from the game, a Samurai Gunn 2 illustrated zine detailing the game’s backstory, and a special Tetris 35th anniversary collector’s pin.

Saturday, August 31 – Tetris 35th Anniversary
- Featuring an introduction from Tetris creator Alexey Pajitnov and live gameplay by top Tetris pro, Greentea with live DJ set from Tetris Effect composer, Hydelic
- Attendees will receive an exclusive Tetris 35th Anniversary Collector’s Pin
Sunday, September 1 – Samurai Gunn 2
- Featuring a live tournament onstage with dynamic DJ set by composer DoseOne, with live SFX and reactive music
- Attendees will receive an exclusive Samurai Gunn 2 illustrated zine
