Moleskine and Adobe team up once again with a new notebook designed for the artistically inclined

Moleskine has always sought to embrace and support creativity, championing and fostering imagination, memory and travel and over the years has created an eco-system of complementary objects that help enhance the creative process. The Moleskine Paper Tablet – Creative Cloud Connected, is the second collaboration between the two brands and this new notebook will allow users, as its name suggests to link their work created on paper to Adobe Illustrator CC, where it can then be further developed, edited, colored, refined, organised and even shared in different file formats.

It gives users the possibility to experience a continuum between analog and digital in the design and image capturing process. The new toolset condenses the creative process into a few simple steps and provides a solution that offers an unprecedented level of integration from start to finish.

This new tool works with the Moleskine Pen+Ellipse, and thanks to the special paper used within the notebooks it is now easier to capture notes and drawings. Each page has two symbols which when tapped by the Pen+Ellipse triggers actions; one turns on the toggle of the simultaneous drawing mode within Illustrator, while the other triggers the action of saving the current file to the Adobe Creative Cloud. Graphic designers, visual artists and illustrators will be able to work both solely on paper and then later connect their output to Illustrator CC or they can also create in real time as the art they create can be mirrored in simultaneously on their Windows PC or Mac effortlessly. In an independent study commissioned by Moleskine it was discovered that while people increasingly use digital devices, they also continue to create output with pen and paper and a large portion of people frequently re-draw their work into digital format and this new tool allows users to enjoy the best of both worlds, efficiently and seamlessly.

In an ever increasingly digital world, paper continues to not only be relevant but an essential part of the creative process, yet both media must live in symbiosis and as stated by Peter Jensen, Director of Digital Innovation:

Moleskine is a brand of enablement – we consider ourselves a platform for creation and sharing. This means that we are about building bridges between your ideas and the world. With digital we expand that capability and enable your ideas to go further. It also means that we want to let our users choose the tool that’s best for the job – and as stated we think paper and digital are natural companions – because at the end creativity should be platform agnostic.

I got a chance to test it out and now I’m fully converted.  Honestly after the event I got back to my desk and was on Amazon looking up the smart planner that Moleskine also offers.  I’m excited to see how much further Moleskine and Adobe push the limit in this line.  I really need a PS x Moleskine, since that is where I normally work, but for anyone that lives in AI, this is a must buy especially if you’re an artist.  I think my only take away would be nice to have an erasable type of Pen or even a Pencil nib.  If you wanna check out the experience I had, check out my Instagram, I added a pinned IG Story.
