Super Smash Bros. 4 and Street Fighter V Announced as esport Titles for November Battle on the Strip Pro-Am Tournament

Ultimate Media Ventures, LLC (UMV) – the VC-backed esports innovation and media company – is proud to announce Super Smash Bros. 4 and Street Fighter V as the next competitive titles in their Pro-Am Battle on the Strip eSport tournament series. Featuring different leading competitive titles each month, professional and amateur esports talent come together to compete online, with each month’s finals held at the prestigious SLS Las Vegas Hotel & Casino.

UMV’s Battle on the Strip premiered on October 16, 2016 as the first of its kind Pro-Am esport tournament series activation on the Las Vegas Strip, with the highly popular Dota 2 as its first featured title. Amateur team Doo Wop won the October tournament, securing (US) $25,000 in cash and prizes.

The recurring eSport lifestyle and community series now continues with fighter-focused Pro-Am Super Smash Bros. 4 and Street Fighter V eSport competitions in November. Pro and amateur teams can sign up online today at BattleOnTheStrip.com and smash.gg/battlegg for their bracket assignments for the two tournaments. The live finals featuring the top four Pro-Am teams will be held at The Foundry, SLS Las Vegas’ premier live entertainment venue, on November 20, 2016. UMV will additionally host regional qualifiers at the popular Las Vegas-based Press Start Gaming Center and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas’ (UNLV) “8-bit esports” Lab.

Teams will compete for a $10,000 pool of cash and prizes – split evenly between the winners of the Super Smash Bros. 4 and Street Fighter V tournaments. Festivities preceding the tournaments include appearances from special guests – including Robert Rippee (director of the Hospitality Lab and esports Lab at UNLV), a mainstage cosplay contest at the SLS Las Vegas and multiple giveaways for premium gaming products from leading industry brands.
