What fun! A most marvelous day is upon us! Compulsion Games has announced that We Happy Few, its drug-fuelled action-adventure game about paranoia and suspicion, will launch on Steam Early Access and Xbox Game Preview July 26.
The opening sequence to the game, in which Arthur Hastings suddenly decides to go off the state-encouraged happy pills, was also revealed during Microsoft’s E3 media briefing. Unfortunately for Arthur, Downers are very, err, frowned upon in Wellington Wells.
Set in an alternate history England during the 1960s, We Happy Few is the tale of slightly terrible people trying to escape from a lifetime of cheerful denial. To find your way out of Wellington Wells and reconstruct the past, you’ll have to blend in with its other citizens, who don’t take kindly to those who don’t abide by their not-so-normal rules.
