New XBOX 360’s Gaming Headset & Remote

Sony’s not the only kid on the block with some new peripheral hardware coming out for their console, Microsoft announced a new gaming headset and remote controller for the XBOX recently.First up is a new wireless headset for the 360, while this new snazzier looking headset will still use the 360’s proprietary radio frequencies for Live chat it does have Bluetooth which allows it to connect to other Bluetooth devices (say like a cell phone or even a PlayStation 3). The switch between XBOX Live chat and Bluetooth mode are denoted by a circular light that switches between green to blue which is clever. The headset can be charged through mini USB and comes with different size ear adapters and will be available in November in the US for $60 (it will also be available worldwide but no release date or price was given).

Also announced was a new media remote for the XBOX that will pretty much function like the previous controller but it will have a new sleeker design and it has lost the Media Center button. The Media Remote will also be available in the US this November for $20. You can check out some images of both pieces of hardware in the gallery below as well as a video from Major Nelson un-boxing the new wireless headset.
