New Indie Game, Beat Hazard Ultra, Made Among Dirty Socks

While it’s great having big titles from large studios that have hundreds of people working on a single game, sometimes you have more fun playing the smaller lesser known titles that were made by one person out of their home. One such upcoming title looks to blend the fast pace action of twin stick shooters with the timing of music games all while being made out of the creator’s bedroom! Steve Hunt of Cold Beam Games introduced his newest game, Beat Hazard Ultra to the world on the PlayStation Blog and the game looks to be a nice addition to the PlayStation Network Store. Almost a cross between Super Stardust and Beaterator, Beat Hazard Ultra has you controlling a ship and fighting baddies while using your own music to influence the look and gameplay of the levels. The game features plenty of battles with enemies and level bosses, as well as online (co-op and head to head), and several gameplay modes such as Survival and Boss Rush. The game should be hitting the PlayStation Newtork in September (PC and Mac in Q2 2001) but in the mean time check out a video of the game and some screenshots below.
