Review: Boogie Board 8.5 LCD Writing Tablet

We got to review the Boogie Board 8.5 LCD Writing Tablet.  I think its a cool idea.  I personally like the bigger model, because it has the lock feature that the 8.5 model doesn’t have.  I think its interesting that this could become the next wave for paperless items.  The 8.5 model comes with the pen.  The price point isn’t too shabby at $40 for the black model, however they have other color models that range in price from $42 to $43, depending on the colors.  There’s some pros and cons to the tablet, one it doesn’t come with a holding case.  Two, there isn’t a way to store the notes that you write, so that means if you accidentally erase the note, it’s gone forever. I think its a great tool if you’re trying to teach your child to read or write, since there isn’t paper involved or it can even good to use on a road trip. However for the more day to day use for an adult there isn’t much to it.  I could see myself using it at work because I’m always writing notes to myself and they don’t usually aren’t needed after that day.

All and all, if you have an extra $40 lying around and wanna try a fun gadget, then the Boogie Board is for you.  The case we got for the review was cool too. I plan to use it a lot at work and probably for my daughter on road trips.
