If you’ve always wondered exactly how the underwater city of Rapture came to be prior to the events of the game Bioshock, you’ll have your chance to read about it on July 18th. Tor Books is releasing Bioshock: Rapture, a prequel to the game that will take readers back to Rapture before the underwater utopia disintegrated into chaos. The publisher has put up an excerpt from the first chapter of the novel on their site. The author John Shirley, who wrote the screenplay for The Crow, will be at San Diego Comic Con signing copies of the book as well. I read the excerpt and while there’s no Big Daddy’s running around it does have an appearance by another fan favorite. Check out the excerpt over on Tor Books website.
