Of the many awesome things about Japan and Japanese culture is that they still have a very active arcade scene. While the closest we have to arcades here in the US are either small hole-in-the wall arcades that are going the way of the Dodo bird or Dave & Busters it seems that in Japan the arcades are thriving with lots of different types of games in multi-level facilities. And these arcades are always packed with people young and old at all all hours. It’s a pretty incredible sight to see, and film maker Brad Crawford explores the success of these Japanese arcades in his film 100 Yen: The Japanese Arcade Experience.
