12 Years Ago I Crapped My Pants Playing ‘Silent Hill’ 1

Being Bifuteki’s self-proclaimed ‘Silent Hill Expert’ I would be remiss in my duties as a writer if I did not properly wish the first Silent Hill game a very Happy 12th Birthday! Yes it was twelve years ago when our PlayStation consoles were terrorized by Konami’s foray into the survival horror genre with it’s twisted tale of Harry Mason and the search for his daughter in the mysterious town of Silent Hill. While Capcom had created a sketch and started the ball rolling for survival horror with the first ‘Resident Evil’, Silent Hill redefined the genre and created a blueprint of how horror games would become. It’s amazing that 12 years later that games like ‘Dead Space’ 2 are creating even more frightening gaming experiences than it’s predecessors yet you can see Silent Hill’s influences oozing all over it. So in honor of that twisted, demented, mind-frack of a game I’ll be playing the first Silent Hill LIVE on Justin.tv later today (around 7pm eastern) and scaring the living daylights out of myself so be sure to tune in! Happy Birthday Silent Hill!!!
