Review: Castle Crashers PSN Edition 1

Castle Crashers came out on PSN this week that just passed and well to say the least, its still very awesome. That’s why its taken us awhile to actually post a review, cause well we’ve been playing it.

There have been some changes to the gameplay and different types of games in this version. For one, there is no more All You Can Quaff, that awesome eating contest game in the XBLA version. The PSN version got a doubly awesome game, Volleyball, a 4 vs. 4 player game of well Volleyball, only its played with weapons. Needless to say, it was lots of fun even though it took us some time to actually get the hang of it.

I do have to say that the Castle Crashers on PSN feels much more polished compared to the XBLA version. There doesn’t seem to be an issue with character placement like the XBLA version. Another thing that we noticed, was that there were some tweaks to the actual gameplay, like the fact that you can’t just ride the mini dinosaur/lizard dude and RULE, you can get knocked off of it now. I was expecting to totally own like I did in the XBLA verison, but found myself actually having to tweak my gameplaying style to accommodate the tweaks in the PSN verison. So for all you reluctant players out there that got the XBLA version and not sure if you wanna spend money to get the PSN version, you should! Its been polished and revamped, and to be honest its really refreshing to play it again after so long.

We still had the issue that there wasn’t anyone to play with online when we were looking for a Volleyball game. I guess people just don’t get it, Castle Crashers is an awesome game.

Overall, we loved Castle Crashers again, and totally recommend it. So if you have some money just laying around in your PSN wallet, you should go and spend it on Castle Crashers. I’m sure that there is going to be some DLC soon enough to keep you wanting more from a still awesome game.

We have the demo, and my husband says he thinks it’s like TMNT lol. I like it, and my kid likes it. Another rated T game for him to enjoy LOL.
