Review: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 7

As some of you well know, this was going to be the biggest release this fall season. It was so big that many have broken street date release so many gamers could risk their systems to play such a game. Today is the official release of Activsion’s Modern Warfare 2 and we at Bifuteki risked our own consoles to have a weekend of battling the good fight in a fictional war story that had a lot of great views through different soldier eyes. I would like to give out my condolences to those who brought the game and were banned and congratulations to those that brought the game and survived the wave to enjoy this title.

The one thing that you must understand about the Call of Duty series is the fact that you are not following one main character, but switch between many different characters with multiple situations. This is a true sequel following the characters Soap, Roach, Price and some other characters from the previous Modern Warfare. This time the fight has come home. That’s right, Washington DC has been attacked and it is a cluster fest of terrorist and other situations that make you go “WHAT THE HELL MAN!” Either way each situation with different characters is a big surprise that brings you to utter shock with each event.

All right- on to the game-play and yes you will have to put your FPS skills to the test here. There’s the same combat as before but with addition of dual wielding small armed weapons where you will have to purchase AR-15 magazines to go ahead. It was an awesome surprise going to Brazil and picking up two Uzi’s and M18’s. That was the first time they initiated dual wielding in Call of Duty series. An even better option was to dual wield two sawed off shot guns, nothing like feeling supreme in combat taking down enemies will dual fire power.

Speaking of weapons, my personal favorites are the predator and the heart sensor radar. First the predator is a remote controlled UAV (Unmanned Ariel Vehicle) which drops bombs from an ariel position so that you can view and control where the missile drops, which is a badass feature, however they won’t let you abuse that ability too long. The UAV has what I call a “cool down” each time you use it, but the enemy will catch on after a while and take it down which forces you to go straight back to ground combat. Second featured equipment on the assault rifle and light machine gun is the heart sensor radar which pings blue as your team mate and green for enemies that are in the area. Basically it looks like the radar sensor in aliens but in color. I have to say during the snow mission that came in handy.

As always the A.I. is pretty good with helping out and also calling for help when they are pinned. One of the annoying things in the game is if you are just looking around and killing enemies, you’re C.O. or fellow soldiers will keep barking your name to either give them cover fire or head to the waypoint. They might as well be blunt and say, “Hey stupid forget the enemy just run to the waypoint!” I would suggest doing both because the enemies are very accurate when shooting at you. Also I like the addition of vehicle control, favorite example the snow mission when you take over the snow mobiles racing to escape while shooting with one hand was an awesome experience.

The multiplayer is pretty much the same, but now they have the added special ops feature that can be played with single or co-op. So they kind of gave you a two player campaign, but more along the lines of a side story versus the real story. They kept the same ranking system and of course you have to level each time to use certain equipment. With added the features in multi-player battles as the previous title you can add special perks to your soldier with each class that you make as in “Last man standing” where you can take down an opponent after being shot down to get one final kill in before you die. You will be rewarded with a certain class that you choose by completing certain multiplayer challenges with all the weapons.

Now we reach the point of what is bad about the game and frankly there’s not much. The only complaint so far that the game is short. The campaign can be completed in half a day depending on the difficulty setting, but even if it is short it gives you enough within the campaign to be amazed and of course there is the opening for a sequel. I wouldn’t say that the game is all about the multiplayer because then I would be lying to myself. The story is that damn good so that I can say it is about both campaign and online modes. So my final say towards COD Modern Warfare 2 is a definite buy. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is out now for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. All right soldiers time to get back into this fight so stay frosty and thanks for reading!

idk about glitches. the game is still fun. but theres 1 thing i didnt like in this game. the sniper in cod 5 is much better. the only good maps for snipeing are. wasteland & derail. while cod 5 got cliffside – Airfield – Makin. & 4 more maps i forgot their name.

This game is awesome. The care package glitch has been patched, which makes the game alot better. I have finally started to like the game
