News have been floating about and people have been talking about an upcoming collaboration between Rei Kawakubo’s COMME des GARÇONS and the legendary The Beatles. The Beatles/Comme des Garçons collection will comprise of 10 travel bags, five tees and four shirts. Not wanting to roll out an excessive collection with unncessary products that might in time come to resemble a The Beatles souvenir shop, Rei Kawakubo decided to keep the concept strong and centralized around one idea–bags. Keeping the collection inline with The Beatles, especially with Paul McCartney’s advocacy for vegetarianism and animal rights, the bags and items will be leather-free. In terms of style, so far the first look debuted features COMME des GARÇONS’s signature polka dots mixed in with Apple Corps’ logo.
