NYCC 2011: Dark Horse x Marvel Spideman Syrocos Figure

As part of the Marvel Syrocos program that debuted at San Diego Comic-Con International in July, it is announced today that Dark Horse will be releasing another exclusive Spider-Man statue for New York Comic Con!

New York Comic Con attendees will have a very significant opportunity to acquire a special statue released just for the show. Much like the previously released and long-sold-out SDCC exclusive, a very limited number of this statuette is being offered. It is packaged in the same litho-printed tin box that is the hallmark of the Dark Horse Syrocos, and is destined to be a bona fide hot item, both at the show and far beyond the exhibit hall. It will be sold at the normal retail price of $49.99, with a limit of four per customer.

“We wanted to evoke New York with our very special exclusive Spider-Man,” said Dark Horse’s VP of Product Development, David Scroggy. “Unfortunately, space constraints made a rooftop water tower or fire escape impossible, but we still hope fans can sense the city in this piece.”

The Marvel Syrocos program kicked off earlier this month with two alternating series: Classic Marvel Characters and the Fantastic Four. This new line will be deliberately different than the common modern Marvel collectible sculpture, with features like a rougher surface texture, visible seam lines, and other slightly distressed aspects, such as the method of paint application.

These special New York Comic Con exclusives will be available at four p.m. on Thursday, October 13. Don’t miss your chance to own one of these fantastic statues!

NYCC 2011: Jared Deal Exclusives

I saw these not to long ago via Facebook, I will definitely be getting one of those Vlad plushes for the child.  Her plush collection has become quite impressive with NYCC exclusive plushes since she was born from Uglydoll as well as some other toys that she isn’t allowed to play with yet (her Yo Gabba Gabba x Kidrobot set from her uncle).  I can’t wait to see what else gets revealed this week for NYCC!

NYCC 2011: Shawnimals Exclusive @ MPH

Squibbles Ink, Shawnimals and myplasticheart have collaborated on these two editions of Halloween-inspired, hand-painted dumplings made especially for NYCC 2011. Shawnimals (booth 581) will feature the pumpkin-orange, X-eyed, splattered Crime Scene edition, and myplasticheart (booth 879) with have the black, red-eyed, equally-splattered Guilty as Charged edition. 50 piece edition, $12 each.

Oh I will be getting the pumpkin colored cutie…. now I just hope that I can carry everything home on Thursday when I go to buy everything.

Things We’re Diggin’: Star Wars x Japanese Trains = Lightsaber rails

The Japanese have definitely got it right with their promo stunt, turning the hand rails on the Tokyo subway system into brightly lit lightsabers.

We can imagine Japanese businessmen taking hold, making “zoom” noises in their heads whilst imagining that they are on their way to rescue a bikini-clad Princess Leia, rather than simply commuting for another boring day at the office.

That’s for sure… I know if they did that here in NYC they would not last, people would find ways to get them off the trains.

It’s official! New York Comic Con is quickly approaching and Kidrobot will be rocking the house once again. We will be holding up in The Cultyard at Booth 774 from October 13-16.

Our NYCC menu will include the all new Yankee Pig Dog 7-inch Labbit Biological Warfare Edition by South African artist, Kronk. We will also release a couple of limited edition 3-inch mini figures including glow-in-the-dark editions of Street Fighter’s Blanka and South Park’s Dead Kenny.
