Review: Catlateral Damage [PC]

I like dogs, but they tend to be a bit too needy for my personality. I love cats, they are fairly self reliant (or at least act like they are) but like people they can be humongous assholes. Finally we have a game that let’s you be that a-hole cat. Originally created in seven days during a game jam has now turned into your portal to being the most destructive domesticated feline ever.

The game itself is very simple, you play as a cat and your goal is to knock various items off shelves and surfaces and onto the ground. Right now there are two modes, a timed trial mode and a ‘litterbox’ mode in which you just run through the house and knock down stuff at your leisure. You can unlock different cats to play as, different power ups to your jump and swipe, you can also unlock new locations to cause destruction like the ‘Supurrrrmarket’ and the ‘Mewseum’. I must say there is something quite satisfying about knocking down an entire dinosaur display!

There’s no deep story to the game, nothing overtly complex just a fun time being a cat. I can now look at my own fat cat, Spooky, and say to her “I understand you now.” If you are looking for a fun game that’s a break from the norm then pick up Catlateral Damage.
