Artist/illustrator Yoskay Yamamoto worked together with Mighty Jaxx to bring one of his amazing creations to life. Originally a sculpture that was part of Yoskay’s last solo exhibition, “joke’s on me…”, Sideways is now a limited edition art multiple created in wood and resin. The NYCC edition Sideways is the final retail version and is limited to only 100 pieces. Available exclusively at the myplasticheart booth #113 throughout NYCC 2013 for $85. Yoskay will also be making the trip to NYCC and will be signing at our booth (Time and date to be announced).
Born and raised in Toba, Japan, Yoskay Yamamoto moved to the United States at the age of 15. A self-trained illustrator, Yamamoto’s artistic tastes expanded as he fell in love with the urban culture of the West coast. Yamamoto discovered a way to fuse the two different cultural backgrounds together into his work. Yamamoto nostalgically blends pop iconic characters from his new Western home with tradi- tional and mythical Japanese elements, balancing his Asian heritage with urban pop art.
