You may have read my mini rants on Twitter/Facebook, so over the weekend it was double XP for COD: BLOP II. By the end the weekend I got all the way to 53, I got to 55 at the end of Monday. Me and Tanya agreed that we were going to do the same thing we did with RDR and Prestige together and go through the motions of grinding back up to the second Prestige. Yesterday I got excited and ready to “do work”, so I turned on the PS3, and my multiplayer rank was reset. At first I thought, oh I might have Prestige by accident because I was at rank 1, but the icon next to the rank was not the right one. I go and check my calling cards, and it’s all gone. I go and check my clan tag, that’s gone too. Everything was gone.
I immediately go online and check the FAQ (which I have to say is the worse), which had absolutely no information, only telling me to call a phone number that is on the West Coast. I read through some completely buried forum posts, that I could attempt to PM someone in the forums for help (CutPurse), which I could not do. So then I read elsewhere can message them on Twitter/Facebook (ATVAssist), which is considered 24/7 hours. That didn’t work either because all I got was a bunch of ignored messages, which lead to more frustrations.
Finally I got on the phone and called the support number, which took almost two hours (with the amount of callers going up and down, I get on the phone to find out that there is a high chance that I won’t be able to get back all the work that I put into my account and have to struggle back to the top again. Needless to say I am one disappointed about the way COD has their servers set up and how poor their customer service is.
Update #1: After calling I played a butt load of COD – I got up to lvl 21, with the help of some friends and a bunch of playing.
Update # 2: Turned on the console today, and I got my levels and rank back! Super excited I texted Tanya like OH YEAH GOT MY RANK BACK. I immediately prestige my player in freak of losing my rank again. I used my token refund, played two rounds. Ate dinner, came back to game, and my rank reset again. Now I’m back to rank 1 – again. I may just give up on this game!
Update # 3: Tried to call the 800 number, total fail told me to call back later. Chances are I won’t be able to before they are no longer working for the day. I noticed that someone actually responded to me on FB, so I replied back to them, hoping that someone replies back to me on FB.
