Director Kevin Tancharoen, who started off making what was essentially a demo reel called Mortal Kombat: Rebirth which spawned a nine episode web series called Mortal Kombat: Legacy, is slated to direct a full length feature rebooting the Mortal Kombat movie series. Looks like New Line Cinema was so impressed with Tancharoen’s take on the Mortal Kombat universe that they have given him the reigns to the film reboot. I personally thought the web series was pretty well done, I especially liked the Raiden and Cyrax/Sektor episodes, so I think this film redo will be even better with a bigger budget. No word yet if ‘Legacy’ starts Jeri Ryan or Micheal Jai White will be in the film. Keep it here for more info about this film as we get it.
