‘Devil May Cry’ Heads to the Big Screen 1

In a follow up to the $580+ million success of the ‘Resident Evil’ film franchise, Screen Gems (which is a part of Sony Pictures) has secured the film rights to adapt Capcom’s Devil May Cry. With all the comic books; the anime cartoon, the 4 game sequels and it’s upcoming reboot titled ‘DMC’ it’s amazing this hasn’t been made into a movie yet but it is surely welcomed by fans. I can only hope they just go all out on this and just have crazy fun with it. Maybe they can take a queue from films like ‘Grindhouse’ or the Asian film ‘Versus‘ and just make a film with crazy stunts, wild monsters, and a great lead that can encompass the ego and charm of Dante from the video games. If they stay away from trying to make the movie too serious or too based in reality I think it could be a great video-game to movie adaptation. Oh and they have to give Dante that bitch’n sword & guns..hell yeah! Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

I wouldn’t exactly call any of the RE films AFTER the original a success, no matter how much money they made, the movies were plain out ridiculous. Entertaining, but ridiculous! I hope they don’t ruin this one, I hope they make it as good as the Tomb Raider movies, those were pretty badass…but then again, anything with Angelina Jolie is badass =]
