Review: Get Fit with Mel B.

Through out gaming history I have seen my share of workout video games. Yourself Fitness, WiiFit, EA Sports Active. While it’s strange to think of playing an exercise video game, a lot of people turn to this alternative to lose weight. With “Get Fit with Mel B” gamers looking to get in shape will have a better time with this workout game. The combination of the game and the Playstation Move controller users will have a much better time having a more precise counter for their reps. While I am waiting for my Kinect to be shipped to see how those fitness games really work, lets just dive into this game right here.

So lets say your a stay at home dad, like myself. You want to join the local gym cause you notice that your starting to make that weird noise when you get up. You know the sound. Since I got this game I exercised to it every day. The one thing about exercise is to be committed to it and your goal. “Get Fit with Mel B.” it’s pretty much a straight forward game, you pop the disc in enter in your gender, height, weight, foods your allergic to, what exercise equipment you have at home  and what you want your goal to be. Your goal can be either one goal or a combination of them. I also like that you can choose a workout location, I went with the yacht scene.  Working out by a billionaire yacht that I wished I could have while being instructed by the ever beautiful Mel B.

Now having had this for about two weeks, I must say that the variety of exercises are very easy to do. With the help of the Playstation Move tracking your reps per exercise. I have noticed that some floor exercises are not easily tracked so I cheated on some reps. Each session is about 30 minutes long. You do get a timed water break. After each set of exercises you get a display of how many calories you’ve burned for the session as well as how many reps you preformed in that section of the work out. Along with the workouts there is also healthy recipes that are selected for you to go along with your workout regimen to help you “Get Fit”. You can also go back and track your progress for me things have gotten better through the two 2 weeks.  In summary I must say that “Get Fit with Mel B.” is a buy if your looking to get toned, lose the extra weight you might gain this holiday season, or to get in shape for a special event. There are also a slew of trophies to keep you motivated if your looking to get fit while trophy hunting.
