Exclusive Street Fighter x Tekken Characters For PS3

We already knew that Cole McGrath from Infamous was going to be an exclusive playable character for the PS3 version of Street Figther X Tekken bun now comes the announcement that there are two new fighters entering the ring. Old school original box art Mega-Man will join up with Pac-Man as PlayStation exclusive characters for some really odd reason. Also joining the fight are the cute Japanese PlayStation mascots Toro and Kuro. If you are keeping count that is five exclusive characters appearing on one console, if characters are what you are looking then the PS3 version may be the one you want to pick up. Check out the video above for the announcement.

Preview: Darksiders II Death Eternal Video

I have always felt Death being more of a suitable character for my persona and thanks to Darksiders II I will get my wish…..virtually of course. This is the Death Eternal Trailer and I have to say this story seems to be a lot more pleasing than the last one. We shall see when the game drops later this year.

Dress Your Live Avatar With Cool Threadless Shirts

If you are an XBOX 360 gamer who is a fan of Threadless tees then you will probably love this news. Threadless has teamed up with XBOX and is now offering some of their popular tees as shirts for your LIVE Avatar. Ranging in price from 80 MS points to 160, your XBOX avatar can look just as cool as you think you look when wearing a Threadless t-shirt. Although I am a little miffed at the fact that some of the shirts are only available for just male or female avatars, but hopefully that is just a temporary oversight. You can check out the shirt selections on the LIVE Marketplace.

Dead Island DLC: Ryder White Trailer!

This DLC offers a unique new perspective into the incidents in the main story of Dead Island: This time the player will get the chance to play as Ryder White, (SPOILERZ!) the antagonist of the main game.  Learn more about his motivations and why, from his point of view, he did what he had to do. This fresh take on the Dead Island story shows Ryder White both as a military man and a loving husband.

The DLC stars Ryder White as a newly playable character and offers a single player campaign with several hours of story content with twists and turns that will shed new light on the game’s happenings. Two blueprints and weapons will further expand the already impressive arsenal of Dead Island.

The DLC will be available on February 01, 2012 for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows PC. It will be available for 800 Microsoft points on Xbox LIVE Marketplace or for $9.99 USD on PSN and Steam.

PixelJunk™ debuts on Steam!

Q-Games is excited to announce that the critically acclaimed and stunningly beautiful PixelJunk™ Eden will be available to PC users everywhere on Steam by NEXT WEEK (Feb 2nd)!   PixelJunk™Eden is the debut title for the indie artist/musician Baiyon (also performing the keynote speech for the 2012 Global Game Jam this weekend), who collaborated with Q-Games to create a game like no other with an eclectic blend of original music and a spellbinding artistic style, all distilled into an immensely fun and addictive game, the likes of which you have never played before.

PixelJunk™ Eden on Steam will include the “Encore” DLC pack by default and also, the full soundtrack (with the unreleased Encore tracks) will also be available as DLC.

The regular price will be $9.99 for the game, and $5.99 for the full soundtrack (17 tracks), however we are also announcing a limited time early bird discount!  Get in quick and you can pick up everything 20% off!

Additionally, to celebrate the launch of PixelJunk™ Eden on Steam here is a short Q&A with Dylan Cuthbert of Q-Games that gives some background info:

//// Dylan Cuthbert on PixelJunk™ and Steam ////

This is the first time the PixelJunk™ series has been seen outside of PSN. Why have you chosen to release on Steam?

Steam has always been a great platform for indie games and I have admired the way they have supported non-traditional game development with titles such as Terraria, Bastion, World of Goo, etc.  We like PSN a lot but Baiyon and I also simply want to allow more people to experience Eden as it is a truly unique game, even now almost 4 years on it is still fresh and new.  We had a blast revisiting it to prepare it for Steam.

What made you choose Eden as the first Steam PixelJunk™ game?

When I was thinking through the catalog of PixelJunk™ games, Eden was the one that stood out to me as perfect for the Steam audience.  The beautiful graphics and colours are striking on a PC monitor especially at higher resolutions than the standard “HDTV” 1080p and the game is perfect for the more point/click style that comes with mouse control.  The relaxing yet challenging style of the game is great for quick play sessions during lunchtime at work too!

Can we expect anything new for the Steam version of PixelJunk™ Eden?

Lots of stuff is new – the main cool feature is that your Grimp (the little character you control) now has the ability to warp back to his last resting position!  It uses a little bit of your energy but if you’re careful you no longer have to worry about missing an important jump – fall too far, just hit space and warp back.  Also, rather than having to collect all the Spectra (these are the objects that let you grow your main garden) repeatedly we now save your progress in each garden, so you can just start from the last Spectra you grabbed when you go back in.

Also the extra special 5 levels that were in the Encore DLC are included in the Steam version right from the get-go!  Watch out for that zero-G level!

On top of all this we also re-tuned everything from the controls to the enemies and it’s going to be a pleasant surprise for newbies and veterans alike!
